How do I join?

To join Chain Reaction, you need to have your parent or legal guardian fill out our online information form and someone will be in contact with you shortly. Once they send you an application, you will both need to schedule an appointment to attend Orientation. These happen every Friday during Center hours. Have questions? Give us a call.

Is there an age limit?

We are open to all high school age teenagers. If you have questions about our age limits, please give us a call.

How long is Orientation? Do I need to bring anything?

Orientations take place each Friday during center hours. Each orientation lasts approximately one and half hours. At the orientation, teens learn more about Chain Reaction’s service projects, our Standards of Excellence, how to use the Chain Reaction Internal Portal, and decide on their service goals.Parents are more than welcome to stay to view their parent guide and ask questions, otherwise drop them off and pick them up within the hour.

Is there a membership fee? Do you offer financial aid?

Membership fees are $75 for new members and $55 for renewing members. We understand that not all families may be able to afford the membership fee so we ask that families pay what they can with a $5 minimum fee and CR will gladly cover the remaining amount.

Is there a cut off for Membership?

We have moved from an all-year enrollment program to having closed membership for most of the year. We open membership from June 1 until September 30th. After this date we no longer accept applications until the following school year. If you miss your chance to join, make sure to take advantage next year.

Can I bring my friends?

For safety reasons, all meetings and events are members-only. Unless your friends are Chain Reaction members we don't allow outside groups to hang around the Chain Reaction Center. But, if you have friends who are interested in what we do, have them sign-up!

How much time do I have to commit to Chain Reaction?

As much time as you want. Just know you get out what you put in. It is an investment that pays big dividends in the future.

When will I be able to log in to the online system and log my hours?

Once you join Chain Reaction we will give you a welcome packet with introductory information. In 24 to 48 hours you will recieve an automatic password and user name for logging into our system. Once you receive the email follow the instructions (within 24 hours or the password resets) and you are good to go!

My parent/guardian wants to get more involved, how can they?

Chain Reaction is always looking for ways to get our teens' parents involved and have included many different ways to volunteer. The different ways they can get involved include Board positions, donating money, committee member positions, serving as a speaker at Teen Convention, or directly working with teens. For more information on donating time or money, have your parents click the appropriate element that they are interested in here.
