Like many other teens who have joined Chain Reaction, my mom forced me to join. At first, I was reluctant. I needed the service hours and it was something I could do after school instead of homework. After a couple of weeks, I wanted to stay. I was upset when something would come up and I could not go to Chain Reaction. I was forced to come, but I chose to stay.
Chain Reaction helped me make new friends, connect with others who go to my school, and it provided me with numerous opportunities that I was never aware of. I am about to start my junior year in high school and I have collected almost 100 hours in two years. I have learned skills that I would not learn in the classroom. There are a multitude of projects to choose from, and they all benefit different organizations in the area. Knowing that I am making an impact on my community while having fun and making friends is what fuels me to keep coming back.
