50 Four 50

April 10, 2011

The 50 four 50 program is where 50 local individuals and businesses support 50 teens through the Chain Reaction Academy.  The CR Academy consists of 50 students chosen to develop their physical, mental, and spiritual goals that inspires, educates and serves as a living teen example in their community and Chain Reaction.  Here are two teens that strive for more out of their high school years through Chain Reaction and their success stories.

Sarah

Sarah first became a CR member during her freshman year in high school, but didn’t fully engage as a member until the beginning of her senior year.  After attending the second annual teen convention in the summer leading up to last year of high school, Sarah approached CR with a desire to contribute more to both the organization and community as a whole.  Only months after becoming actively involved, Sarah headed up her first Chain Reaction teen project by organizing the CR Freeze.  During the downtown Pensacola gallery night, CR teens gathered together to make an impact through an act of performance art.  Sarah was able to implement her leadership skills through this opportunity, and has continued to actively be involved with Chain Reaction leadership on a weekly basis.

Mokell

Mokell has been a CR member for less than a year, and has already given 844 hours of service to the Pensacola community.  As a sophomore, Mokell joined CR with hopes of finding new opportunities to serve, but has since been able to become an active leader within CR.  Mokell has been able to polish his public speaking skills and has been an encouragement to many other teens in becoming more actively involved.  Through his consistent presence at an after school program, he has been able to develop positive mentoring friendships with many of the children.  Mokell is an incredible role model within the community and looks forward to another two years of volunteering through high school.
